New Delhi: Both the Houses of Parliament were adjourned till 2 PM within minutes of the commencement due to continuous action by the opposition and ruling parties.
The 2nd session of the budget session began last Monday. Since then both the Houses of Parliament have been paralyzed for three consecutive days due to tension between the opposition parties, the ruling party over the Adani issue and Rahul Gandhi’s London speech. In this situation today (Thursday) at 11 am the Lok Sabha session of the Parliament started with the slogans of the opposition parties. Then Speaker Om Birla said, “I will give you permission to speak on the issues. “Now go to your seats and maintain the dignity of the House,” he asked the members. But opposition members continued to come to the center of Parliament with banners and chanting slogans. The Speaker urged the opposition members not to disrupt the proceedings of the House. However, as they continued to raise slogans, the Lok Sabha was adjourned till two in the afternoon.
In the states, Rajya Sabha proceedings began today amid calls from the ruling party for Rahul Gandhi to apologize for his London speech. Following this Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankar adjourned the House till 2 pm.
Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a meeting with ministers Rajnath Singh, Piyush Goyal, Anurag Thakur, Kiran Rijiju and Pragalad Joshi in Parliament. Similarly, members of various opposition parties met in the Rajya Sabha Leader of Opposition Mallikarjuna Kharge’s office in Parliament to discuss the parliamentary proceedings.
The opposition parties are insisting that a joint parliamentary committee should investigate the Adani issue in the second phase of the budget session, and the ruling BJP is demanding that Congress chief Rahul Gandhi apologize in Parliament for his London speech. The parliament is constantly being blocked due to their actions. Due to this, many bills cannot be passed.
