Corona: 177 positive cases .. What are the new Omicron cases ..?

No new variant of the Corona Omicron case was registered in Telangana on Thursday. A significant 14 cases were registered on Wednesday. In all, 38 people in the state have been infected with the Omicron variant so far. In the last 24 hours, 648 people from eight risk countries arrived at Shamshabad Rajiv Gandhi International Airport. Corona RT-PCR tests were performed on them and six passengers tested positive. Authorities then sent their samples for genome sequencing. However no omicran cases were reported.

So far, 10,029 people have come to Telangana from all the high risk countries. Of those, 70 samples with corona positives were sent for genome sequencing. 22 of them were already negative for Omicran. 38 were positive for Omicran. Another 10 results are yet to come, officials said.

During the last 24 hours, 38,219 corona diagnostic tests were conducted in the state. The total number of cases registered so far has reached 6,80,251. One person has lost his life with Corona in the state in the last 24 hours. That brings the death toll in the state to 4,018 so far. The bulletin explained that 190 people had recovered from the clutches of Corona on Wednesday.
