The number of new infections has increased in the last 24 hours in 6 states namely Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Punjab.

The number of people currently being treated for corona infection in the country is reported to be 1,59,590. This is 1.44 per cent of the country’s total population.
The number of new infections has increased in the last 24 hours in 6 states namely Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Punjab. Of the 16,488 new victims nationwide in the last 24 hours, 85.75 percent were from these six states.
Telangana, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, West Bengal and other Union Territories are among the worst affected states.
As of 7 am today, 1,42,42,547 beneficiaries across the country have been vaccinated, including 4,45,328 in Tamil Nadu and 11,144 in Pondicherry.
Of the 2,92,312 camps, 66,68,974 health workers (first dose), 24,53,878 health workers (second dose) and 51,19,695 frontline staff (first dose) were vaccinated.
On the 42nd day of the vaccination program (February 27, 2021), 13,397 camps were vaccinated for 7,64,904 beneficiaries (first dose for 3,49,020 beneficiaries, second dose for 4,20,884 beneficiaries) across the country.
The number of healers in the country has increased to 1,07,63,451. The number of people who have recovered from this is 97.17 percent.
In the last 24 hours, 12,771 people have recovered and returned home.
The highest number in the last 24 hours was 8,333 in Maharashtra, 3,671 in Kerala and 622 in Punjab. There have been 113 fatalities in the last 24 hours.
