The correspondent of the TV channel “Izvestia” Alexander Safiulin on Monday, June 20, showed the consequences of the attacks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (APU) in Donetsk.
Huge columns of smoke can be seen in different parts of the city. Smoke is also visible in the Azotny microdistrict of Donetsk, where arrivals do not stop from the very morning.
Safiulin showed the consequences of the arrival of a shell of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in a residential building.
“People’s windows were broken on the second floor. <...> A very strong smell of gunpowder, ”said the correspondent.
Among the local residents there are victims. A huge crater formed in the courtyard of the house.
“People run in blood. This is how the consequences of the arrival look like, ”concluded Safiulin.
Earlier that day, the mayor of the city Oleksiy Kulemzin said that Kyiv, Kuibyshevsky and Petrovsky districts of Donetsk were under massive shelling by Ukrainian troops, a strong fire broke out in the Azotny microdistrict.
According to the representative office of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) at the Joint Center for Control and Coordination (JCCC), from 07:55 to 13:00 on June 20, the Ukrainian military launched 16 artillery strikes on Donetsk. In total, they fired 125 shells into the city.
A day earlier, it became known that Ukrainian units fired 20 152-mm shells at settlements in the DPR per day. The militants fired 14 shells at Panteleimonovka, and six more at Mikhailovka.
On February 24, Russia launched a special operation to protect Donbass. Moscow explained that the tasks of the special operation include the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine, the implementation of which is necessary to ensure the security of Russia. The decision was made against the backdrop of aggravation in the region as a result of shelling by the Ukrainian military.
