Surgeons, traumatologists, therapists in the medical companies of the Luhansk People’s Republic (LPR) save the lives of wounded soldiers. Patients are treated not only for shrapnel and bullet wounds, but also for diseases acquired in the field. Izvestia correspondent Dmitry Zimenkin visited one of these companies.
As a serviceman of the People’s Militia of the LPR with the call sign “Surgeon” said, the servicemen also often catch cold in the cold trenches.
“Because it’s cold in the trenches, people sometimes get colds, plus there are chronic diseases. Again, we drink all the water. There are situations when kidney stones appear. We are all human, and it is inherent in us to get sick, ”he said.
As the head of the medical company Alexei added, medicines are brought from Moscow and St. Petersburg, the need for which is great.
“The flow of the wounded is large, and, accordingly, consumables are in demand. Hemostatic, celax are needed, as well as consumables – blood pressure monitors, ”he specified.
In the arsenal of the medical company there is also a portable ultrasound machine, it allows you to study penetrating wounds or internal hemorrhages.
On May 20, the deputy head of the People’s Militia Department of the DPR Eduard Basurin told. that 27 servicemen of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) were killed in the past week. Another 120 people were injured, he said.
On May 18, a military medic of the LPR with the call sign “Doc” told how he provides first aid to wounded soldiers in the combat zone. You have to work under shelling, not only local nationalists, but also foreign mercenaries are fighting against the LPR fighters, he said.
On February 24, Russia launched a special operation to protect Donbass.
