Bangalore. The Muda land scam is now becoming a noose around the neck for the Karnataka government. CM Siddaramaiah himself is at the center of this scam. Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot has ordered an inquiry against him. Not only this, a case will be filed against Siddaramaiah under section 17A of the Prevention of Corruption Act 1988 and section 218 of the BNSS. Congress seems to be in action mode on this matter.
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah attacked Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot and called him a puppet of the central government. Meanwhile, the opposition party BJP is demanding the resignation of the Chief Minister. Meanwhile, after the allegations of corruption against the Chief Minister, the Congress has announced that it will hold a statewide protest on August 19 against the matter.
After the Governor’s decision, a political war has erupted between BJP and Congress. It is alleged that CM Siddaramaiah has misused his position by getting land for his wife Parvati in the posh areas of Mysore by preparing fake documents. The Chief Minister has denied all these allegations and said that he will fight them legally.
Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar said on the social networking site X that our party leaders and workers will take out a kilometre-long march at the taluk and district levels. He called upon Congress workers to submit a memorandum to President Draupadi Murmu against the governor’s move. Karnataka Congress state president Shivakumar asked party leaders and workers to participate in the protest in large numbers.
