New Delhi.It seems difficult for Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to come out of jail at the moment in connection with the corruption case related to the liquor scam. Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court on Wednesday extended the judicial custody of CM Arvind Kejriwal till July 12 in the money laundering case.
Along with this, the court also reserved its order on Arvind Kejriwal’s petition seeking the presence of his wife through video conferencing during consultation by the medical board. The court will give its verdict on July 6. Kejriwal was produced through video conferencing and addressed the court. The court will pronounce its order on July 6. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday moved the Delhi High Court seeking bail in a corruption case registered by the CBI in connection with the alleged excise policy scam. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener was arrested from Tihar Jail by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on June 26.
Arvind Kejriwal was arrested by the ED on 21 March and was granted bail in the money laundering case by a subordinate court on 20 June. However, the High Court stayed the order of the subordinate court. The Delhi Lieutenant Governor had ordered a CBI inquiry into the alleged irregularities and corruption in the formulation and implementation of the excise policy, after which this policy was canceled.
