New Delhi: Craig Fulton has been appointed as the head coach of the Indian hockey team. This has been announced by Hockey India. This announcement has been made while the Hockey Pro League matches are about to start on the 10th.
The 48-year-old is from South Africa. He has about 25 years of experience as a trainer. He served as the head coach of the Ireland team from 2014 to 2018. Since then he has worked as an assistant coach of the Belgium hockey team. Belgium won the 2018 World Cup series and the Tokyo Olympics during this period. He has also won the FIH Hockey Coach of the Year award.
He has played around 195 matches for the South African team over a period of 10 years. It is reported that he will join the Indian team very soon. He said that it is an honor to be appointed as the head coach of the Indian men’s hockey team. Graham Reid stepped down as India’s coach after the World Cup debacle. Fulton will replace him in that role.
