Criptan, the Spanish platform for buying, selling and saving crypto assetswhich counts among its investors the president of Mercadona, Juan Roigin addition to former executives of the caliber of Angel Corcósteguiformer CEO of Banco Santander, and José María Castellanoformer vice president of Inditex, has managed to close a new round of financing 3.5 million eurosdespite the situation that bitcoin is experiencing.
The Valencian company founded by Jorge Soriano has closed a new capital increase that, according to the company itself, thus demonstrates the interest that continues to exist in the ecosystem despite the fall in the valuation of most cryptocurrencies.
With this round, new partners have joined, mainly Asian, with whom it seeks to establish strategic alliances for its jump into that geographic region. In addition, entrepreneurs with successful experiences have also joined, among other investors, such as Juan Lobato, CEO and founder of Eburya company acquired by Banco Santander, or Iñaki Berenguer, Managing Partner of Life Extension Ventures and founder of companies such as CoverWallet.
The funds obtained will be used mainly to develop the following three strategic pillars: regulatory adaptation to the new MiCA Law, which will come into force in the next 12 months; the expansion and improvements of Criptan’s savings and investment product, guaranteeing the highest security standards; and geographical expansion thanks to the strategic investors who have joined in this latest round of investment.
The fact that the company has achieved this round of financing after such a challenging year for crypto assets is a sign of the confidence that investors have in the project. Furthermore, the support of large institutions shows the interest that this sector is also generating among more traditional financial entities.
Another of the company’s objectives continues to be to be able to offer its profitable products and access to the advantages of the crypto ecosystem on a global level. It has already closed agreements with large institutions in Mexico and plans to soon arrive in Asia.
According to Jorge Soriano, “we are probably at the best moment in the history of Criptan. We are backed by some of the most powerful people and institutions in the world, a financial platform that more and more users use every day and we are already beginning to notice how “Interest in the crypto ecosystem is growing very quickly again.”
“After what happened last year in the ecosystem, we have received a lot of interest from large investors to be part of the project we are creating. Our main objective has always been to improve people’s finances and lives, in a simple, safe and useful, and this reinforces that we are on the right path” comments Jorge Soriano, CEO and co-founder of Criptan.
