This Saturday (12) Cristiano Ronaldo won his first title in Saudi Arabian football. With two goals from the Portuguese star, Al-Nassr defeated Al-Hilal by 2-1 in overtime and won the Arab Champions Cup.
This was the first achievement of the Portuguese star since the end of 2022, when he transferred to football in Saudi Arabia. It was also the first mug of coach Luís Castro, who left Botafogo for Al-Nassr in June.
The Portuguese coach won the direct confrontation with his compatriot Jorge Jesus, who has been in charge of Al-Hilal since last month.
The decisive goals came only in the second half, after a very tough first stage. The Brazilian Michael, a former Flamengo player, opened the scoring at the King Fahd stadium, in Riyadh, in the sixth minute.
At the celebration, he made a gesture that was traditionally known with Cristiano Ronaldo, who looked like he didn’t like it very much.
Still in regulation time, the Portuguese tied the match, in the 29th minute. Then, in overtime, he again found the net to give his team the title.
