The fifth edition of the Labor Sports Course, organized annually by the Dubai Sports Council, in cooperation with the Permanent Committee for Labor Affairs in Dubai, was concluded under the slogan “Making them happy is our goal” at various stadiums in Dubai.
The Secretary-General of the Permanent Committee for Labor Affairs in the Emirate of Dubai, Abdullah Lashkari, a representative of the Dubai Sports Council, and a representative of the Positive Spirit Initiative at Dubai Police, crowned the winners, and cups and medals were distributed to the winners.
The Dubai Sports Council appreciated the efforts of participants in various sports, including companies, bodies, institutions, and workers, who competed to win the titles of the tournament, which witnessed the participation of 40,000 male and female workers from 275 companies, competing in 11 sports games: basketball, football, road racing, arm wrestling, Badminton, volleyball, swimming, tug-of-war, yoga, cricket, and kabaddi. This year, the tournament witnessed the participation of female teams of female workers from various companies in the sports of badminton, volleyball, and yoga, and female workers also contributed to managing and judging these tournaments.
The results of the basketball tournament resulted in the Drydocks World team winning the championship title, after defeating the ENOC team in the final match with a score of (44-29), and the Transguard team came in third place after defeating the Desert Group team, and the player Mudjmar Laksmana from the Drydocks team won. Awarded the title of best player in the tournament.
The results of the cricket tournament also resulted in the Dulsco team winning the championship title after defeating the Nuzul Star team by 59 runs in five rounds, bringing the latter to second place, and the Dubai Municipality teams came in third place, after defeating the Petronash team, and the player Shehzad Butt from the team Dulescu received the award for the best player in the tournament, and Zeeshan Mohammed was also named the best bowler in the tournament.
In the swimming championship competitions, the 50-meter triple race from Emrill was won by swimmer Subhesh Suresh in first place, Vishnu Rajan second, and Rameez Babu third. In the 100-meter race, Aqeel Jayan from Emrill won first place, followed by Neilbert Logo from Drydocks World in Dubai. In second place, Habib Sheikh from Dulsco came third, and in the 200 meters race, Abhilash Shaji Anitha from Emrill won first place, followed by Raj Bhardwaj from Oasis Metal Industries in second place, and Lijo Lewis from Oasis Metal Industries came in third place.
The tournament’s competitions were held in 10 locations: Jebel Ali, Al Quoz, Al Jaddaf, DP World, Dutco, Dulsco, ENOC Residential Complex, Al Qusais, Muhaisnah Fourth, and Al Ghurair Residential Complex.
