The English team Crystal Palace succeeded in winning first place in the under-12 category after defeating the Polish team Gornik Zabrizie, while the English team Southampton won first place in the under-16 category after defeating the Spanish Knights team from Dubai, and the Spanish Knights team won first place in the Under-14 category after defeating the American New York Red Bulls team, and the CFFA team from Dubai defeated the English Robbie Fowler Academy team in the under-18 competitions.
The winners of the first places in various age groups were crowned by Ahmed Salem Al Mahri, Director of the Sports Development Department at the Dubai Sports Council, and former Manchester United and West Ham United player and ambassador of the tournament, English star Teddy Sheringham.
The Dubai Sports Council said in a statement yesterday: «The tournament witnessed great success in the technical level and high performance of players in different age groups, as the tournament brought together more than 600 players from different countries and continents of the world representing 32 teams from four age stages from 12 to 18 years of age. Four different continents, including 15 teams from Europe, Africa, India, the Far East and North America, most notably: England’s Crystal Palace and Southampton, Japan’s Yokohama, Iso United and New York Red Bull Americans, along with the (Robbie Fowler) and (Lukas Poldolski) academies in Poland, competed against 17 teams. One of the private academies in the country.
