Birmingham: In the ongoing Commonwealth Games, Indian wrestlers Bajrang Punia, Deepak Punia, Anshu Malik and Sakshi Malik, Divya Kakran are winning medals consecutively.
India’s Deepak Punia takes on Pakistan’s Mohammad Inam in the men’s freestyle 86kg final. In this, Deepak Punia won 3-0. He won the gold medal with this. This is Deepak Punia’s first gold medal at the Commonwealth Games. Meanwhile, this is the 9th gold medal for India. Earlier, Bajrang Punia won gold in men’s freestyle 65kg category and Sakshi Malik won gold in women’s freestyle 62kg category today.
Meanwhile, India’s Divya Kakran won the bronze medal in the 68 kg category. Also, Mohit Grewal won bronze medal in men’s 125 kg category.
Earlier, India’s Anshu Malik took on Nigeria’s Odunayo Folazade Adekuroye in the women’s freestyle 57kg final. In this, Anshu Malik was defeated and got the silver medal. With this, 6 medals have been won in wrestling today alone. This includes 3 gold, one silver and two bronze medals.
