If you own an Android smartphone, you should uninstall the SuperVPN app. This opinion was expressed by cyber expert Zach Doffman in an interview with Forbes.
According to the specialist, it turned out that this application contains spyware and steals personal data.
Doffman spoke about information from the CyberNews research group about the sale on a hacker forum of three databases with information about customer devices and user credentials of SuperVPN, as well as GeckoVPN and ChatVPN services.
It is noted that there are at least six similar applications on Google Play. Doffman recommended choosing VPN apps with verified reviews and not installing free versions.
On December 2, Roskomnadzor announced the planned introduction of centralized management of VPN services.
In early September, a decision was made to block six VPN services: Hola VPN, ExpressVPN, KeepSolid VPN Unlimited, NordVPN, Speedify VPN, IPVanish VPN.
The researcher of mobile threats at Kaspersky Lab Viktor Chebyshev, in turn, drew attention to the fact that such decisions are made if they do not comply with the requirements of the supervisory authority, in this case Roskomnadzor. In other words, these services are considered a threat.
