Cyclone threat to AP .. Authorities alert these districts, a warning to take precautions!

The Department of Disaster Management said the AP was under imminent hurricane threat. ‘Asani’, a severe cyclone in the west central Bay of Bengal, is moving west-northwest at a speed of 25 km per hour. It is 920 km northwest of the Nicobar Islands and 770 km northwest of Port Blair. It is located 500 km southeast of Visakhapatnam and 650 km south-southeast of Puri.

It is expected to gradually approach the northern coastal-Odisha coast by the 10th of this month. It is likely to then divert and move towards the north-northeast towards Odisha. Wednesday is expected to gradually weaken. Light to moderate rains are expected at several places in Uttaranchal from Tuesday evening to Wednesday due to this effect. Winds will be 40-60 kmph along the Uttaranchal coast.

The sea will be turbulent. Fishermen have been warned not to go hunting till Thursday. Farmers are advised to take appropriate precautions in advance in agricultural work. People are advised to be vigilant. Light to moderate rains are expected in some parts of Uttaranchal and East Godavari districts from Tuesday. Heavy showers are likely in one or two places. Authorities also issued No. 2 hazard warnings at all ports in the state. The surface period is expected to continue from Machilipatnam to Chainne.
