Mumbai:It has been reported that Cyrus Mystery was killed because he was not wearing a seat belt in a car that was traveling at a high speed of 20 km in 9 minutes.
Former chairman of Tata Sons, Cyrus Mistry, died in a car accident yesterday (September 4). He was 54. He was traveling from Ahmedabad to Mumbai in a Mercedes car. Then his car unexpectedly collided with the retaining wall of the bridge over Suriya river at Balkar near Mumbai. Two people including Cyrus Mistry died in the accident. Police are actively investigating the accident.
In this case, after examining the CCTV footage, the police found that the car crossed Saroti check post in Palghar area at 2.21 am. The accident site is 20 km away from there. The time of the accident was exactly 2.30 am. The accident took place in the 9th minute after the car left the check post. It is revealed that the car covered a distance of 20 km in just 9 minutes.
The investigation revealed:
1. Cyrus Mistry died at the scene of the accident. Jahangir, who was accompanying him, died while being brought to Dinsha Pandol Hospital, the doctors said.
2. Cyrus Mistry has a head injury. Jahangir Dinshah suffered a fractured left leg and a head injury.
3. Both Cyrus and Jahangir were sitting on the back seat. Rear seat occupants are also required by Motor Vehicle Act to wear seat belts.
4. Anahita Pandol drove the car. She was the sister of Jahahingar, who was also a doctor, sitting in the back seat.
5. Eyewitness accounts of the accident stated that the car tried to overtake another vehicle from the left side but the car lost control and crashed into the retaining wall.
6. Anahita, who was sitting in the front seats, and her husband Darius sustained serious injuries in the accident.
7. Airbag protects front occupants.
