In a statement released by the Union Health Ministry, “In the last 24 hours, 10,158 new cases of Covid infection have been confirmed. This is the highest in the last 200 days. In the last 24 hours, 2,29,958 tests have been conducted and 10158 people have been confirmed to be infected with Covid. Due to this, the number of infected people has increased to 4,47,86,160 since the beginning of the covid infection.
Yesterday alone 5356 people recovered from the infection. So far 220.66 crore doses of corona vaccine have been administered across the country.
Daily positivity rate is 4.42 percent and weekly positivity rate is 4.02 percent.. (The positivity rate is a measure of how many out of 100 people who are tested for Covid are confirmed to be infected). 19 people have died in the last 24 hours.
After some of the doctors and staff of Delhi AIIMS Hospital have been infected with Covid, everyone in the hospital has been advised to follow the precautionary measures against Covid.
