DPRK leader Kim Jong-un appeared in public and took part in a meeting of the Korean Workers’ Party (WPK). As noted on Wednesday, December 29, the Daily Mail, the North Korean politician has noticeably lost weight.
On the eve of the Central Telegraph Agency of Korea (CTAC) published pictures from the last party meeting. During the event, representatives of the TPK discussed the implementation of the party’s policy in 2021. The meeting participants also touched upon the topic of development strategy in the context of the economic crisis for the next year.
The British newspaper, in turn, drew attention to the statements of the government authorities of the DPRK. In particular, government officials stressed that Kim Jong-un “eats less for the sake of the country, as he is struggling with severe food shortages.” At the same time, it was noted that the leader of North Korea is healthy.
Earlier, in June, photos of the head of state were published, in which it is also noticeable that the leader of the DPRK has lost a lot of weight. Some observers have noted that, with a height of about 170 cm, Kim, who previously weighed 140 kg, may have lost about 10-20 kg.
According to Hong Min, a senior analyst at the Korea National Unification Institute in Seoul, Kim’s apparent weight loss is more of an attempt to improve his health than a symptom of illness. Min assured that if Kim Jong-un had health problems, he would not have publicly called a plenary meeting of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party.
