Daniel Lazo admits that he abused alcohol in the past
In a recent interview, Daniel Lazo He opened his heart to talk about the death of his younger brother, which made him fall deeply. Likewise, the winner of the first season of ‘La Voz Perú’ admitted that he abused alcohol and everything got worse when he mixed it with antidepressant pills.
“Not only was it the issue of alcohol use, but it was mixed with antidepressants. Well, at the presentation it was almost inevitable that they would give you a whiskey. I was on pills and I shouldn’t have taken them… and everything got to me. It was never dependency,” Lazo said.
Likewise, the ‘Olvidarte’ interpreter assured that his life changed when he received professional support. “Having psychological and psychiatric therapy was wonderful. It is one of the best things a man or woman can do. If this (the mind) is not healthy or not free, the body responds to you,” he added.

Daniel Lazo, winner of Gold and Platinum Records, has once again thrilled Peruvians with the release of his new song, ‘En otro vida’, dedicated to the memory of his deceased brother, Joaquín Lazo. The publication of the topic on their social networks was quickly filled with comments from their followers, who shared reflections on what they would say to their loved ones who are no longer here.
“My brother’s death is a topic that I have never liked to talk about since it is the most painful moment of my life, but thinking that almost all of us have lost someone we love very much, I made this song in memory of my brother who I hope it also serves as a respite for those who do not always find the words to talk about these painful topics,” said Daniel Lazo about this new composition.
The song ‘In Another Life’, which is now available on all platforms, was created by Daniel Lazo himself in collaboration with the Grammy-nominated composer, Gonzalo Calmet, and Jesús ‘El Viejo’ Rodríguez, winner of Viña del Mar, who was also in charge of the production of the song.
“We decided to incorporate the cumbia rhythm together with the charango and quenas into this song, since where I come from (Ayacucho) funerals are also a ritual of celebration of the life of the person who has passed away; That is why we did not want to make a sad song, but rather combine nostalgia and respect for our loved ones with rhythms that give us hope and allow us to pay tribute to the time we enjoy with our families,” added the winner of ‘The Voice Peru’.
