Sydney: David Warner has announced his retirement from ODI cricket. He had already announced that the Test series against Pakistan would be his last Test series.
Currently Australia and Pakistan teams are playing in Test series. The final match of the 3-match series is scheduled to be played at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Wednesday. This match was Warner’s last Test match. The 37-year-old has scored 8,695 runs in Test cricket.
Warner has been playing in ODIs since 2009. So far he has scored 6,932 runs in 161 ODIs. Warner was part of the team that won the 2015 and 2023 World Cup series. The T20 World Cup series is going to be held in the current year. He said that he is going to focus on it. At the same time, he said that he is ready to play in the 2025 Champions Trophy series if the team needs it.
He said that he wants to play franchise T20 cricket matches and spend his time with his family. He also said that he is ready to play ODI matches if the team needs it.
