Jammu: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has said that when Jammu and Kashmir was ruled by only three families, power has now been decentralised.
Amit Shah, who left for Jammu and Kashmir on a three-day visit on Monday, today visited the Vaishno Devi temple in Rajouri, a border district of Kashmir. Later he attended the rally there and addressed. At that time, he said, “After the abrogation of Article 370, which gave special status to Kashmir, the backward people, scheduled tribes and hill people here have got the benefits of reservation.
Today’s rally and your slogan of Modi… Modi… is the answer to those who said that if Article 370 is abrogated, rivers of blood will flow in Jammu and Kashmir.
Jammu and Kashmir was ruled by only three families. But now Panchayat. Municipal councils are vested with 30,000 elected representatives. Development of Jammu and Kashmir is Prime Minister Modi’s main objective,” he said.
Amit Shah, who is going to launch various welfare schemes in Jammu, is going to lay foundation stones for various schemes.
He will review the security situation in the Union Territory in a meeting at the Raj Bhavan in Srinagar tomorrow.
Internet service disconnection
While Amit Shah had gone to Jammu and Kashmir, Hemant Logia, the Director of Prisons, was killed yesterday. The police have arrested Logia’s domestic servant Yasir Ahmed in connection with the murder and are interrogating him. The group People’s Anti-Fascist Front (PAFF), which claimed responsibility for the jail director’s murder, said it was a small gift to Home Minister Amit Shah and that such activities would continue.
However, due to security reasons, internet service has been suspended till night in some areas including Rajouri.
