Shankaracharya Peetha has taken a drastic decision considering that Hindu culture and traditions are being minimized in films and OTTs. It has been heard for many days that the content is being created to hurt the sentiments of Hindus even though there is no need for the story. Lately it has become too much. Many Hindu communities are already protesting against the demeaning content of Hindus in films and OTTs. Shankaracharya Peetha has decided to stop such content. This Peetha from Uttar Pradesh has formed a censor board with 10 members.
Shankaracharya Jyotishya Peethadhipati Swami Avimukeswaranandan in Lucknow has announced that the Dharam Censor Board is being set up. It can be said that one of the main reasons behind setting up this censor board is the Shahrukh Khan starrer Pathan movie. It is known that the song Besharam Rang was released from the recent movie Pathan. In one of the scenes, Deepika Padukone wore a saffron colored bikini. Hindu communities objected to Deepika Padukone wearing a saffron bikini in the song, which is meant to be a shameless colour. Protests were also expressed to make Pathan’s film Boy Cut.
Tapathi Swami Avimukeswaranandan said that the main purpose of the Dharam Censor Board is to control those who want to screen content to hurt the sentiments of Hindu people, not only in movies, but also in OTTs. The chairman said that Dharam Censor Board is being formed in Haridwar recently. The office of this board is going to be set up in Delhi on January 15. These censor board offices will be opened in six more states including Telangana, Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu in the south.
This censor board will look into the content that is derogatory to Hindu culture and tell the respective owners to correct the mistake. He said that if anyone wants to make films on legends and myths, the board will give advice and suggestions.
