New Delhi: Prime Minister Modi on Saturday paid tributes to Deenadayal Upadhyay, one of the leading ideologues of the ruling BJP at the Centre, on his 55th death anniversary.
Deenadayal Upadhyay, one of the RSS activists, was one of the founders of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh. The Bharatiya Jana Sangh was later renamed the Bharatiya Janata Party. From then on, he was the leader of the BJP until Deenadayal was mysteriously murdered in a train robbery in 1968.
Prime Minister Modi said that Deenadayal’s visions of “antiyothaya” and “integrated humanity” inspired his government’s interests.
Prime Minister Modi tweeted, “I pay my respects to Deenadayal Upadhyaya on Punya Diti Day. We must never forget his efforts for the development of the country and helping the poor. Inspired by his vision, we are working round the clock to ensure that all the benefits of development reach the downtrodden and marginalized. We are coming” he said.
