New Delhi: Rajya Sabha member Kapil Sibal has said that the CBI has sent a summons to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the Delhi Liquor Policy scam case.
Former Delhi Chief Minister Manish Sisodia has been arrested and imprisoned in connection with the liquor policy corruption case implemented in Delhi in 2021. The CBI has sent a summons to Chief Minister Kejriwal to appear at 11 am on Sunday (April 16) for questioning.
Rajya Sabha M.P. Kapil Sibal commented on Twitter. In it, he said, “CBI has sent summons to Kejriwal. BJP says: Law is there; my stand is: Harassment is happening.”
Kapil Sibal was a Union Minister twice during the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance regime. It is noteworthy that he quit the Congress in May last year and contested as an independent candidate for the Rajya Sabha with the support of the Samajwadi Party.
The Aam Aadmi Party also confirmed that the CBI had sent the summons earlier. In this regard, the party’s M.P. Sanjay Singh said in Delhi on Friday: “Chief Minister Kejriwal, who recently addressed the Delhi Assembly, alleged that Adani Group’s black money belongs to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Following this, there is a conspiracy to jail Kejriwal. According to this, CBI has issued a summons to him. “BJP will go to any extent to hide the corruption of Prime Minister Modi,” he said.
Regarding the summons, CBI sources said, “The accused in the Delhi Liquor Policy scam case and some witnesses have named Chief Minister Kejriwal. We have sent a summons to inquire about this,” they said.
