Delhi has the highest number of Omicron cases in the country, behind Maharashtra

The number of Omicron variant victims in the country is doubling day by day. More than 150 new cases were diagnosed in the 24 hours from Sunday morning to Monday morning. This brings the total number of Omicron variant cases in the country to 578. Of these, 151 have recovered and been discharged, according to the Union Health Ministry. The national capital Delhi is one of the states with the highest number of new variant cases. There were a maximum of 142 cases diagnosed.

It is followed by Maharashtra, Kerala, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Telangana and Tamil Nadu. Delhi 142, Maharashtra 141, Kerala 57, Gujarat 49, Rajasthan 43, Telangana 41, Tamil Nadu 34, Karnataka 31, Madhya Pradesh 9, Andhra Pradesh 6, West Bengal 6, Haryana 4, Odisha 4, Chandigarh 3, Jammu and Kashmir 3, Uttar Pradesh 2 , Himachal Pradesh, Ladakh and Uttarakhand. Of the total 34 in Tamil Nadu, 18 have recovered and another 16 are being treated at hospitals.

On the other hand, 6,531 new cases of corona virus have been reported nationwide in the past 24 hours. Another 7,141 have recovered, the health ministry said. There are currently 75,841 active cases in the country. Also, another 315 people fell victim to the Pandemic. Meanwhile, the corona is causing a stir in the Maharashtra Assembly. In the last two days, 2,300 RT-PCR tests have been conducted in the wake of the Assembly’s winter session.
