Born on March 23, 1958, Saxena was until recently the Chairman of the Khadi and Village Industries Commission. Saxena, who studied at Kanpur University, has a pilot’s license. On March 5, 2021, he was appointed a member of the National Committee for the 75th Independence Day Anniversary Celebrations. He was also nominated in November 2020 as a member of the selection panel for the 2021 Padma Awards.
He joined the JK Group in Rajasthan in 1984 as an Assistant Officer. He worked in various capacities for eleven years in the white cement factory of that group.
Saxena founded the National Council for Civil Liberties (NCCL), an NGO based in Ahmedabad in 1991. The organization is recognized by the Department of Justice.
