“In May 2022, the index of contracting new cars in St. Petersburg dealerships increased by 24% compared to April,” the message cited by 78.ru reads.
According to analysts, the supply on the market in May was formed due to small shipments of new cars of Korean and Chinese brands. The most popular cars to buy in spring were Hyundai (+12%) and Chery (+7%). The share growth within 1-2% was shown by Mazda, Exeed, Genesis and LADA. Demand for Land Rover, Skoda, Renault, Mitsubishi and commercial Ford fell the most (from 2% to 5%).
According to experts, the activity of buyers is associated with a decrease in the refinancing rate of loans.

The lowest median cost was recorded for Lada cars (750 thousand rubles), followed by Chery (950 thousand rubles), Volkswagen (1.1 million rubles) and Ford (1.2 million rubles).
