During her acceptance speech, the actress could not hold back her tears, reflecting the deep joy that this recognition generated in her.
“I really didn’t expect it. I’m in shock right now! I’ve been doing this for a long time, over 45 years, and this is the first time I’ve won anything as an actress. “I feel very honored and grateful,” she said as soon as she took the stage.
In her emotional speech, Demi Moore recalled a conversation she had with a film producer approximately three decades ago, who called her a “popcorn actress.”
“At the time, I thought it wasn’t something I was allowed to have. And I accepted it and believed it, and that gnawed at me over time to the point where a few years ago I thought maybe this was it. Maybe I was complete, maybe I had done what I was supposed to do,” he added about that anecdote.

In this way, Demi Moore sought to conclude her speech with a message that, she stated, reflects the purpose of the film in which she acts.
“In those moments when we don’t think we’re smart enough, beautiful enough, thin enough, or successful enough, or simply when we don’t think we’re enough, you can see your worth if you put aside the measuring stick. So today I celebrate this (the award) as the indicator of my fulfillment and the love that drives it, and the gift of doing something that I love and that reminds me that I do belong,” he concluded.
