Bangalore: Assembly elections are going to be held in Karnataka next April or May. Former Prime Minister Deve Gowda’s secular Janata Dal has announced candidates for 150 constituencies while the election date is yet to be announced. In this case, Kumaraswamy has announced that his son Nikhil Kumaraswamy will contest from Ramnagar constituency.
Meanwhile, Bhavani, wife of Deve Gowda’s elder son Revanna, has publicly announced her intention to contest from the Hassan constituency. For this, her husband and former minister Revanna and sons Hassan MP. Brajwal, Hasan MLC Suraj also expressed support. At the same time, Deve Gowda’s younger son Kumaraswamy has said that the party top will take a decision on giving seat to Bhavani Revanna, which has caused controversy in the Majdhata.
The Deve Gowda family is in an uproar as Bhavani Revanna has automatically overtaken her and declared her constituency. Senior Majda functionaries are displeased that the Deve Gowda family is contesting for popular constituencies.
