The couple’s suicide attempt in front of the Collectorate created a commotion in the district centre. Nandipet sarpanch Vani and her husband attempted suicide by pouring petrol in front of Tirupati (ward member) collector’s office, alleging that pending bills were not coming and they were harassing them without signing. Tirupati tearfully said that he had done two crore rupees worth of development projects in the village. He expressed his grievances that if he joins the BRS party with the idea of developing the village after winning his wife as sarpanch by contesting from BJP, the check power will be cancelled, suspended and he will be aggrieved. An accident was averted when a person at the collectorate grabbed the matchbox from his hand. After that, the police and officials made him happy and moved him from there. Tirupati complained that the sub-sarpanch was causing trouble by not signing the cheques. He alleged that check power was abolished and a case of atrocity was filed. He said that he has been roaming around the courts for three years. Armor MLA Jeevan Reddy also alleged that he is not paying attention to his wall. He said that he tried to commit suicide by pouring kerosene on himself as he turned around the authorities and felt that justice was not done. Sarpanch’s husband Tirupati expressed his grief that he supported 10 people and now his condition has become poor. The villagers of Nandipet welcomed Padmasali’s child and said that if they win the village will be better, they can’t do anything now. He said that the two crore rupees spent for village development has reached Rs.4 crore including interest. He said that he was in a poor condition with no money in hand and pending bills, but still the authorities responded and asked him to do justice.
