Mumbai: Mahendra Singh Dhoni undergoes successful surgery on his left knee at a Mumbai hospital.
In the recently concluded IPL T20 cricket series, the CSK team led by Dhoni won the title. Dhoni was playing with a left knee injury in this series. Although he handled the wicket-keeping task well, he struggled in some games to score runs quickly while batting.
In this case, the CSK team management said that if the doctors advise Dhoni to undergo surgery for his left knee injury, it will be decided after receiving the related reports and that will be decided by Dhoni. Accordingly, now Dhoni’s surgery has been successfully completed at a Mumbai hospital.
CSK CEO Kashi Viswanathan has confirmed that Dhoni has undergone surgery. Talking to PTI about this, Kashi Viswanathan said, “Yes, Dhoni underwent a successful knee surgery at Kokila Pen Hospital in Mumbai. The surgery was done in the morning and he is fine now. I don’t know the other details including the nature of the surgery.”
A source close to the CSK management said, “Dhoni will be discharged in a day or two. After that he will be on rest for a few days. We hope he will get enough time to get fit to play in the next IPL as the surgery is over.”
