Diana Sánchez, remembered for her time as a ‘Combate’ contestant, has embarked on a new professional path that mixes her passion for football and her leadership capacity. After years of experience in television and shows, she decided to become certified as a referee in New York, where she began directing matches in youth categories. Diana Sánchez confesses her passion for football
In an interview with El Comercio, Diana Sánchez revealed that her training as a referee began last year in New York. There he coached games in the under-12, under-13, under-15 and under-16 categories throughout the spring season. “At first, I feared being discriminated against for being a woman, but in that country, people are not judged by their gender, but by their ability and knowledge,” said the artist.
Diana, who developed a deep love for Lima Alliance During her time as a cheerleader at age 19, she shared her desire to officiate a team game. “I wouldn’t have been able to represent my colors if I didn’t love them. “I am a fan and it would be great to referee an Alianza Lima match,” she confessed excitedly.
Officiating, far from being an isolated challenge, became an experience that Diana shared with her husband, Dan Guido, an American lacrosse, soccer and football referee. “He encouraged me to try it. We got certified together and last year we worked as a team. It was a rewarding and well-paid experience,” added the former member of ‘Combat‘.
