On Monday (13), President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) highlighted the complexity of the operations to evacuate Brazilians from the Gaza Strip, pointing out the variety of factors involved, including the need for cooperation and “goodwill” for part of Israel.
“We are bringing what we can to release, with a lot of sacrifice, because it depended on the good will of Israel, it depended on the number of people, which we didn’t know. Every day we called the minister of Israel, morning and afternoon, called the minister of Egypt, to our ambassador and then we managed to bring people in”, he stated.
The president also compared Tel Aviv’s response to the severity of Hamas’ attacks.
To comment on war updates and President Lula’s statements, Isabella Faria talks to special reporter Igor Gielow in How is it? this Tuesday (14).
