Prabhani in Maharashtra has the highest petrol rate in the country. There, the price of a liter of petrol is Rs 123.46. The highest diesel rate is in Chittoor in AP. In Chittoor, the rate of diesel is Rs 107.61 per liter. Similarly, petrol is becoming cheaper in Port Blair. There, the price of a liter of petrol is just Rs 91.45. The diesel rate is Rs 85.63 per liter.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently said that petrol and diesel rates are likely to remain high domestically. Although the central government has reduced the excise duty on petrol and diesel, some states have alleged that they are not reducing taxes to that extent. Modi urged the states to reduce taxes for the benefit of the country. That is, according to Modi, if the central government reduces the excise duty, the states should also reduce taxes. Then petrol and diesel rates will go down. Petrol and diesel rates vary from six o’clock every morning. These rates include central excise duty, dealer commission, state taxes and other factors.
