The DIF Coahuila launched more than 120 events scheduled in this month of August to celebrate the elderly, informed the honorary president of the unit, Marcela Gorgón.
“As every year, we are celebrating to honor the great work and love with which our older adults have forged our families, the generations of Coahuilenses who have built the greatness and strength of our entity.“, he pointed.

The honorary president of the DIF Coahuila said that in all regions of the state, the DIF Coahuila, the Municipal DIF Systems and the State Government agencies, carry out a series of events to celebrate the lives of our grandparents, recalling the importance that have in our society.
“It is always important to make them (older adults) feel our admiration, affection and gratitude for everything they have done so that today our families live in a safer and more developed state. It is always an auspicious date to show them how much we value them”, highlighted Gorgon.
He also explained that In the five regions of Coahuila, ceremonies are held for the Coronation of the Queens of the Community Centers and Dining Rooms for the Elderly, Coronations in each of the municipalities; the Coronation of the Queens of the Centers for Inclusion and Social Integration, as well as the Municipal Sports and Cultural Games for the Elderly.
There are also talks on physical and emotional health, cooking classes, excursions, craft activities, lotteries and board games, as well as bulletin boards.
