Al-Wahda Football Company announced in an official statement yesterday the dismissal of Norwegian coach Ronnie Deila from coaching Al-Annabi.
Al-Wahda said through its official account on the “X” platform: “Al-Wahda Football Club Company announces the dismissal of Norwegian coach Ronnie Deila,” adding: “The company will announce the new first-team coach in the coming days.”
“Al Annabi” had signed Ronny Deila, last July, to succeed Serbian Goran Tovedzic, who left after the end of his contract last season, and moved to coach the Ajman Club.
The dismissal of the Norwegian coach came after Al Wahda lost to Sharjah 0-2 in the 10th round of the ADNOC Professional League, causing the team to fall to fourth place on the standings, while it had bid farewell to the President’s Cup by losing to Al Wasl in the round of 16.
Emirates Today learned that the former Baniyas coach, Slovenian Darko Milanic, is the most prominent candidate to succeed Deila.
