It belongs to a girl who is only two years old. According to reports, the body of a girl named Rosalia Lombardo, who died 100 years ago, is the most beautiful body preserved in the world. Rosalia Lombardo died on December 2, 1920, just before her second birthday.
According to experts, the cause of death of this girl is pneumonia caused by the Spanish flu pandemic that occurred in the period from 1918 to 1920.
The girl’s body is preserved in the Capuchin crypt in Palermo, northern Sicily. Even after 100 years, thousands of people come to see Rosalio resting in a glass coffin.
She was lying inside the box with her eyes half closed. More than 8000 mummies are preserved here. But apart from all this, there is a reason why this baby girl’s body alone looks beautiful even after 100 years. Rosalia’s body is said to have been placed in a glass case filled with nitrogen to prevent damage to the body.

But some are alleging that this body is a fake wax replica. But some others claim that Rosalia turned a blind eye to them. Therefore many visitors come here to see this place and this tomb. Various tests conducted for the filming of a historical channel documentary proved all such theories wrong.
Scans and X-rays have confirmed that even after 100 years, Rosalia’s skeleton and organs are intact. Her brain alone has shrunk to 50 percent of its original size.
Due to the mystery surrounding her perfectly preserved body, Rosalia has earned her place among the legends of Italy. A manuscript discovered by Piombino-Mascali in 2009 details her embalming process. The 2-year-old was mummified by Alfredo Salafia, a Sicilian taxidermist and embalmer.
