Belo Horizonte: A woman was buried alive in a grave in Minas Gerais, Brazil. The police team rescued the 36-year-old woman after hearing cries from the grave. The assailants buried the young woman alive in the municipal cemetery of Visconde do Rio Branco.
The incident happened on the morning of 28th. The information was informed to the police by the cemetery staff after noticing that the grave had been closed with stone and cement and there was bloodstain nearby. The police team reached the spot and heard the woman’s screams of ‘save me’. With this, the grave was opened and they were rescued. The woman was admitted to a local hospital with head injuries.

Following the incident, the area was partially closed, Visconde do Rio Branco municipality said in a statement. Security has also been beefed up to prevent the escape of the accused. It is suggested that the drug gang is behind the incident. The woman has stated that a group of two masked men took her to the cemetery and then beat her up and then hid her in the grave.
The military police stated that the woman is also a drug user. The police have also found that they were keeping sedatives for the two-member gang. The police informed that both have been identified and the search for the accused is continuing.
