The head of the Gamaleya National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology, Alexander Gintsburg, supported the idea of depriving doctors’ diplomas who dissuade patients from vaccination. He announced this on Saturday, November 20.
“I fully support these proposals. Fully. <...> People are being ruined, that is, they are being killed. What kind of doctor is this? Why should you call him a doctor? Because he has a diploma? ” – Gunzburg told RIA Novosti.
He recalled that a doctor was appointed by the state to his position, so that he heals, that he is an intermediary between a medical procedure or medicine and the patient. The medicine in this case is a vaccine.
On November 10, the head of the Russian Ministry of Health, Mikhail Murashko, said that there are measures in Russia to combat anti-vaccination movements. As the head of the department pointed out, the behavior of the “anti-Axis” doctors is extremely incorrect.
Deputy Minister Alexei Kuznetsov clarified that Murashko does not consider it necessary to introduce additional liability for doctors who oppose coronavirus vaccination. It was understood that such behavior of some health workers endangers the life and health of citizens. However, to the proposal of the deputies to amend the legislation, including the criminal one, the minister replied that this was not required.
A large-scale vaccination has been taking place in Russia since January. Citizens are vaccinated free of charge and voluntarily. Five vaccines against coronavirus have been registered in the country: Sputnik V, which became the first vaccine against COVID-19 in the Russian Federation and the world, as well as Sputnik Light, EpiVacCorona, EpiVacCorona-N and KoviVak.
