According to insurers, following domestic cars, Renault, Toyota and Hyundai settled down – they accounted for 12.1% of accidents, respectively. Among the French cars of the Renault brand, the largest number of fires was recorded in the Arkana model, in Toyota – the Land Cruiser Prado SUV, and in Hyundai – the Creta crossover.

On August 24, the U.S. Department of Transportation advised American owners of Hyundai Palisade and Kia Telluride crossovers to park away from buildings and other vehicles, as even with the engine off, there is a risk of a fire in the car. The cause of the fire may be contamination of the trailer hitch control module board, and three Hyundai Palisade fires have been recorded for this reason in Canada.
