The DP World Tour has announced the launch of a special competition for members of golf associations across the UAE, giving winners the opportunity to attend an exclusive coaching session with one of the top 50 professionals participating in the 2024 DP World Tour Championship, which takes place from 14-17 November at Jumeirah Golf Estates. Participating golf associations will be required to hold in-house tournaments for their members before 27 October, to select the top two from among them, with the winners getting the opportunity to participate in the exclusive coaching session.
A number of golf associations in the UAE have registered for the competition, including Social Golf, Desert Rose Golf, Irish Golf Association Dubai, Emirates Men’s Golf Association, Lighthouse Golf, Dubai Swingers and Dubai Teachers Golf.
In a related development, four-time Grand Slam champion Rory McIlroy and Olympic silver medallist Tommy Fleetwood have been confirmed to take part in the 16th edition of the DP World Tour Championship, which will see the top 50 players compete fiercely in the Race to Dubai to lift the Harry Vardon Cup.
For the first time, this year’s tournament is part of the inaugural DP World Tour Qualifier, which also includes the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship from November 7-10 at Yas Links.
