Traffic police inspectors in Protvino near Moscow reminded drivers of the rules for the safe transportation of children in cars.
As the 360 TV channel notes on Wednesday, February 8, specialists conducted a preventive raid as part of the social round “Little Passenger – Big Responsibility”.
The time was specially chosen when parents took their children from classes, from kindergartens and circles.
As the police major and the head of the OGIBDD of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for Protvino, Sergey Belov, explained, the place was also chosen so that it would be safe to stop the transport. Also, 3-4 cars were stopped at a time.
Drivers were stopped and handed information booklets with the rules for using child seats. Small passengers were presented with reflective bracelets.
The inspectors reminded parents that children under the age of seven should not be left unattended in a car.
In January, the press service of the traffic police department in Moscow reported that in 2022, the Moscow State traffic inspectorate stopped more than 70 thousand violations of the rules for transporting children. As noted by the city news agency Moskva, it is permissible to transport children in a car using special child restraints; in the event of an accident, this will be the key to the safety of the child, because a child car seat will help prevent serious consequences.
Also in January, it was reported that at the end of 2022, the number of road accidents involving minors decreased in the capital by 3.5%.
The department noted that last year, to a greater extent, children became participants in road accidents as pedestrians (55%) and car passengers (37%). Moreover, in most cases they occurred due to violation of traffic rules by drivers.
