Nagpur: The Army Research and Development Center (DRDO) has developed drones that can drop bombs on enemy targets in the Himalayan border areas.
These drones can carry items weighing between 5 kg and 25 kg. It was exhibited at the 108th Science Congress in Maharashtra.
These drones were successfully tested by flying up to 14,000 feet in the hills of Sikkim.
30 kg weight..: DRDO is working on upgrading this drone to carry 30 kg goods. The drone is capable of autonomous operation up to a radius of 5 km. This drone goes to the required places and drops the goods and returns to the place of departure. It was capable of dropping bombs on enemy targets.
DRDO official Mahesh Chagu said that these drones will help in transporting medical supplies to the soldiers in the high mountainous areas.
