Kuwait: Two Malayalis drowned in Khairan, Kuwait. They died when the small boat they were traveling in sank. Sukesh (44) of Puthiyaveed Kannur and Joseph Matthai (29) of Pathanamthitta Mozhashery died in the accident. The minister formed the shore audience welcome team and inaugurated the renovation work of Pozziyur AVM canal.
Fisheries Minister Saji Cherian said that a coastal meeting will be held in the presence of ministers to directly understand and solve the problems of the people in the coastal region. The minister said that the state-level inauguration of this will be done by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on April 23 at Pozziyur. The minister was speaking at the formation meeting of the Coast Guards and inaugurating the renovation work of Pozziyur AVM Canal. A welcome team was also formed with K Anselan MLA as the Patron for the extensive conduct of the Thira Mandal.

The program will be organized from April 24 to May 28 with the participation of people’s representatives and heads of various departments. Coastal Council has been conceived as a platform to analyze the problems and complaints of the people living in the coastal area and finding solutions.
K Ansalan MLA presided over the function. Parasshala block panchayat has allocated two crore rupees for the renovation of Pozhiyur AVM canal. The AVM canal from Poowar to Kulachal has been lying in disrepair for many years.
