Heavy cases of drunk driving..
On the occasion of New Year celebrations, from 9 pm of December 31 to the morning of January 1, the police conducted intensive drunken drive checks in Hyderabad. During these checks, heavy drug addicts were caught driving the vehicle. According to the police, 446 cases have been registered in Rachakonda, 1,314 in Cyberabad and 1,413 in Hyderabad.
The Department of Transport has announced that the licenses of 5,819 motorists have been canceled from January to December 2022 for driving under the influence of alcohol and violating traffic rules. In the last year, 1103 drivers’ licenses were canceled in North Zone, 1151 in South Zone, 510 in East Zone and 1345 in West Zone. The Department of Transport has clarified that 3220 more licenses have been canceled in 2022 than in 2021. Many licenses were canceled on December 31 as well.
Liquor sales at a record level..
On the other hand, the New Year rained money for the Telangana government. On December 31, liquor was sold across Telangana. As part of the Newer celebrations, liquor sales were at a record high. On December 31, one day to the tax department Rs. 215.74 crores in revenue. Compared to the previous year, despite the decrease in sales, due to the increase in prices, the Excise Department received a huge income.
From December 31st to January 1st at 1:00 am, record sales were made through all 19 depots across Telangana. Approximately 2 lakh 17 thousand 444 bottles of liquor were sold. Approximately one lakh 28 thousand 455 cases of beer were drunk.
