The Dubai Municipality team was crowned champion of the football championship in the sixth labor sports tournament organized by the Dubai Sports Council, in cooperation with the Permanent Committee for Labor Affairs in Dubai, Dubai Police, the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, and Customs and Port Security, under the slogan “Making them happy is our goal,” and will continue until February 23, 2025. More than 46,000 male and female workers, representing 270 companies, participate in it and compete in 12 various sports games. Distributed across 10 different locations in Dubai. The Dubai Municipality team won first place, after defeating the Transguard team in the final match, which ended in a draw, and penalty kicks were carried out in which the two teams were also equal. Additional shots were carried out, during which the Dubai Municipality team was able to win by lightning strike, and the Transguard team took second place, and came in second place. The W1 team came in third place, after defeating the Surf U team, and the player Nizar Bassam Thabet from Dubai Municipality was crowned the best player in the tournament.
According to a press release from the Dubai Sports Council, 24 teams from various entities, departments and companies in Dubai participated in the football tournament, which was held at Dutco’s stadiums in the Jebel Ali area, and the tournament witnessed a large audience of workers watching the competitions.
At the conclusion of the tournament, Omar Saleh Al Kindi, Senior Community Activities Specialist at the Dubai Sports Council, and Jaber Abdul Latif Makki from the Permanent Committee for Labor Affairs in Dubai distributed cups and medals to the winners of the first three places, in addition to the winners of the individual awards in the tournament.
The activities of the sixth labor sports tournament continue, with the men’s and women’s volleyball tournament being held from the fifth to the 12th of next January, at the “Dulsco Arena” courts in the Al Quoz area.
The number of participants in the course this year increased to more than 46,000 male and female workers belonging to 31 nationalities from 270 companies, forming 873 teams competing in 12 various sports games, including 18 sports tournaments, distributed over 10 different locations.
