The Dubai International Skydiving Championship, organized by the Air Sports Federation, begins today at the Dubai Skydive Club, and its activities will continue until the eighth of next December, with the participation of 136 male and female jumpers, representing 26 countries, competing for titles at the “Dubai” Skydive Club in the port area. The tournament’s Supreme Organizing Committee, headed by the Chairman of the Federation’s Board of Directors, Nasr Hamouda Al Neyadi, announced the completion of preparations for the launch of the global event.
He said: “The new version is distinguished by holding target accuracy competitions in the Al Sufouh Beach area, which was carefully chosen, in addition to the location of the landing zone in Skydive Dubai.”
He added: “This edition will witness the participation of the South Korean and Brazilian teams, in their first appearance in the tournament, which increases the strength of the competition and enriches the tournament.”
For his part, Deputy Director of the Organizing Committee and Chairman of the Technical Committee, Muhammad Youssef Al-Mazmi, said, “The location of the goal accuracy competition at Al-Sufouh Beach was chosen carefully, and was praised by the men of the International Federation and the international tournament referees.”
He added: “Perhaps what is new this year, in addition to the Al Sufouh site, is the participation of both the South Korean and Brazilian teams, which increases the strength of the competition and enriches the tournament.”
In turn, Chairman of the Preparation and Logistical Support Committee, Abdullah Murad, said: “The Dubai Police marine rescue team will transport the male and female jumpers from the Al Sufouh area, after they land to (Skydive Dubai), by cruiser by sailing in the waters of the Gulf.”
