The Dubai Sports Council and Al Furjan Fund, in cooperation with Dubai Municipality, launched the “Al Furjan Football Club” initiative, with the aim of providing an integrated sports environment for children and youth in residential neighborhoods in Dubai, to enhance their sports and physical skills, and encourage them to practice sports in an innovative and sustainable manner.
This initiative comes as a translation of the outcomes of the “Dubai Sports Retreat”, which was organized last November, with the participation of 100 decision-makers, specialists, experts and sports stars, to contribute to achieving the goals of the Dubai Plan 2033, and the Dubai Economic and Social Agenda (33) with regard to the sports field, with the aim of drawing The future of the sector is at the level of attracting and developing sports talent, improving the sector of organizing sports events, as well as increasing the contribution of the sports sector to Dubai’s domestic product, and also increasing the number of practitioners. Competitive and community sports among various groups and for all nationalities, which reflects positively on the health, happiness and activity of community members and on the quality of life in Dubai.
The Al Furjan Football Club initiative targets age groups from five to 14 years, and training during the initiative will continue until March 27, 2025, giving participants the opportunity to engage in an ongoing training program that focuses on physical and mental development. Participants will also be divided into three age stages, to ensure focus The needs of each age group in a specialized manner.
During the initiative, training will be held in five parks distributed across Dubai’s neighborhoods to ensure easy access for all, which are Oud Al Muteena Park, Al Warqa Park 3, the Rose Garden in Nad Al Sheba, Al Barsha Lake Park, and Al Barsha South Park.
Vice Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, Khalfan Juma Belhoul, said: “The Al Furjan Football Club initiative reflects our keenness to implement the recommendations of the Dubai Sports Retreat, through specific projects and initiatives that contribute to enhancing the participation of community members in sporting activities, and developing sporting talent in residential neighborhoods, to continue… “The process of improving the sports scene in the Emirate of Dubai.”
He added, “This initiative comes within our ongoing efforts to enhance sports culture and provide a modern sports environment suitable for the health and happiness of society, which contributes to achieving pioneering sports achievements that enhance Dubai’s position as a global sports city.”
For his part, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Al Furjan Fund, Ahmed Al Beddawi, stressed, “The Fund is keen to organize various activities that help enhance communication between the people of Al Furjan Dubai, based on its role in supporting initiatives that contribute to creating an exemplary environment in residential neighborhoods, and consolidating community and family stability.”
The Executive Director of the Public Utilities Corporation in Dubai Municipality, Badr Anwahi, confirmed that “Dubai Public Parks’ hosting of Al Furjan Football Club initiative training comes within the framework of Dubai Municipality’s keenness to provide attractive and integrated facilities to support community and sports activities that allow the people of residential neighborhoods in the emirate to practice Sports activities in a safe and comfortable environment.”
