The Dubai Sports Council decided to transfer the Dubai World Marathon competitions, scheduled for February 12, to Dubai Expo City.
A statement issued by the Dubai Sports Council said, “Dubai Expo City” is an ideal choice for organizing the Dubai Marathon because of the various services it provides to the participants, including ample spaces for gathering and parking.
This is the first time that the world’s most famous marathon has been organized in “Expo City”, with the aim of highlighting the cultural value that symbolizes the place where the Dubai World Expo 2020 was held.
The Marathon Technical Committee has set new routes for marathon races for a distance of 10 km and a distance of 4 km.
The long-distance marathon champions and champions of Ethiopia are leading the list of participants in the 2023 Dubai Marathon.
Sprinter Ruti Agha and her compatriots Gotemi Schön and Gillet Burka will be at the forefront of the competition.
The Ethiopian runner, Tsegay Mekonnen Asfa, is also participating for the second time, as he is the owner of the fastest time in the Dubai Marathon in 2014 and the youngest among the first winners.
