At 3:00 pm today, the Dubai Water Canal will witness the start of the Dubai 30-foot local rowing boat race (first round of the Dubai Championship 2023-2025), which is organized by the Dubai International Marine Club.
The Dubai International Marine Sports Club stated in a press statement, “The demonstration brings together more than 40 boats carrying up to 400 sailors from the UAE and brothers from the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and residents who are fans of this sport. They will compete in the local two halves designated for the UAE’s boats. And the open one, which is competed for by teams from government departments, national institutions, and boats of brothers from the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.”
The club stated that it has completed all preparations to make the event a success, in cooperation with the strategic partners, owners and participating owners, as the race headquarters on the Al Jaddaf Walk opposite the Dubai Creek Wildlife Sanctuary near the Swiss School will be transformed into a beehive, with the arrival of the boats and the holding of an enlightenment meeting and the drawing of lots to line up at the starting line at Three o’clock in the afternoon.
The boats participating in the local and open halves are expected to cover a distance of up to 2.3 km in a smooth path from the starting line deep in the Dubai Water Canal, near Business Bay and the view of Burj Khalifa, after raising the green flag, and heading towards the finish line opposite the waterfront in “Festival City.” ».
